Advisory: Congresswoman Speier To Make Sandwiches for Homeless Veterans on Veterans Day
SAN MATEO, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) will address veterans and make sandwiches for homeless and disabled veterans at the Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio of San Francisco on Veterans Day.
The event is organized by the Presidio Trust, Swords for Plowshares, ServiceNation: Mission Serve and Civic Assets. Volunteers will sign Operation Honor Cards, assemble boxed lunches and decorate thank you cards for homeless and disabled veterans.
Speier stated, ”It is an honor to give a little of my time on Veterans Day to the men and women who serve our country and who are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom. Veterans Day should be every day and we must redouble our efforts to give our veterans the resources and the respect they deserve when they return to civilian life.”
