Congresswoman Speier and GGNRA Superintendent Lehnertz to Host Public Meeting in Preparation for Park Service Centennial

San Mateo, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (San Francisco, San Mateo counties) and Golden Gate National Recreation Area Superintendent Christine Lehnertz will host a town hall style meeting brainstorming ideas for the National Park Service centennial and GGNRA on Saturday, July 18, 2015, 10-11 am at Nick’s Restaurant in Pacifica.

Lehnertz became the Superintendent in March of this year and Speier is welcoming her to the 14th Congressional District which includes large areas of the GGNRA. Lehnertz will answer constituents’ questions and update them about news in the GGNRA. She will also preview some of the events and activities planned for the National Park Service Centennial. NPS is turning 100 on August 25, 2016.

After the meet and greet, attendants and members of the press are welcome to join Speier for a hike on the Pacifica Pier to look for humpback whales that have been frolicking in the area.
