Congresswoman Speier to Discuss Immigration, Gun Violence and other Topics with Constituents
San Mateo, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14) will host a town hall titled “A Conversation about America: Justice for All” at the Cañada College Theater on Saturday, August 10th at 10:30 a.m. She will open the general town hall with a slide show and presentation about the congressional delegation she led to the U.S.-Mexico border in July. The Congresswoman will be joined by a resident of Half Moon Bay who is currently undergoing the asylum application process. She will also be joined by Griffin Dix of the Brady Campaign to discuss the recent mass shootings in El Paso, Dayton, and Gilroy.
“We are living in a world of rapidly changing news, and I know how exhausting that is for my constituents while they are also working to pay the bills and deal with day-to-day responsibilities. I’m offering these town halls as a forum to stay connected and learn about their concerns,” Rep. Speier said. “Staying engaged and standing up for our shared values of equality, justice and diversity are crucial to preserving our democracy.”
