San Mateo, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14) will host her annual “When I Grow Up…” event with five professional women to inspire 400 elementary and middle school girls to pursue their dream careers on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 10 a.m. on the Genentech campus. Rep. Speier will be joined by recently retired Fire Chief Joanne Hayes White, UC Berkeley College of Engineering Dean Tsu-Jae King Liu, open water, long distance swimmer Kim Chambers, NBC Bay Area/KNTV and Telemundo 48 Area de la Bahia/KSTS President and General Manager Stacy Owen, and KRDO reporter Stephanie Sierra.

“What better way to celebrate Women’s History Month than to tell hundreds of young girls that women can do anything!” Rep. Speier said. “Every year, I leave the When I Grow Up event filled with optimism for the future. Mentoring brings out the best in all of us.”
