Congresswoman Speier to Host Town Hall on President Trump’s First Year in Office
San Mateo, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14) will host a town hall, titled “A Conversation about America: One Year of Trump” on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School in Pacifica.
“Whether your defining moment of Donald Trump’s presidency is a government shutdown on his first anniversary, the birth of the Women's March movement, the firing of James Comey, the travel ban, the withdrawal from the Paris climate agreement, the fiery rhetoric with Kim Jong-un, Kellyanne Conway's claim of alternative facts, the white-supremacist rally in Charlottesville, or the fire and fury over Steve Bannon, his first year in office has been one of chaos and incompetence,” Speier said. “A year ago, I met with my constituents at the Little Brown Church in Pacifica to listen to them express their shock, dismay and fear for what was to come. This weekend I am returning to Pacifica to continue that conversation about America.”
This is one in an ongoing series of town halls held by Speier. On January 25th last year, she hosted her first Conversation about America in Pacifica and this weekend, she will return for her twelfth town hall since Donald Trump became president. Other previous town halls have been held San Francisco, San Mateo, South San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, and Redwood City.
