Rep. Speier to Testify Before Committee on House Administration about Preventing Sexual Harassment in Congress

November 13, 2017
Press Release

Washington, DC - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-CA) will testify Tuesday before the full  Committee on House Administration at their hearing, “Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Congressional Workplace.” Rep. Speier, who has worked since 2014 to address the issue of sexual harassment in Congress, will testify in the first panel, scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.

Earlier this month, Rep. Speier introduced a bipartisan resolution requiring all members of the House of Representatives and staff to undergo annual sexual harassment prevention and response training. H.Res. 604, the Congressional Education About Sexual harassment Eradication Resolution, or CEASE Resolution, is co-led by House Administration Ranking Member Robert Brady (D-PA) and Reps. Ryan Costello (R-PA) and Bruce Poliquin (R-ME). Later this week, Rep. Speier will introduce the ME TOO Congress Act, which will require more transparency, overhaul the flawed complaint process, while providing better support for victims and whistleblowers.
