Speier Statement on the Filling of San Bruno Explosion Crater

Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) issued the following statement on tomorrow’s filling of the crater created by the September 9, 2010 natural gas pipeline explosion that killed 8 people and destroyed 38 homes.

“We can fill the physical hole, but the emotional hole left in the hearts of so many will never be filled. Nonetheless, we must move on to right the wrongs of this terrible chapter in natural gas safety.”
