Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) issued the following statement about President Obama’s remarks on Monday, September 19, 2011 on economic growth and deficit reduction:

"In his speech today, the President made it crystal clear that Medicare is not going to be cut on his watch. He is bullish on cutting the deficit, and he is committed to getting Americans back to work.  Congress owes it to the American people to come up with solutions, not sideshows.”
