Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) issued the following statement today about the situation in Libya:

“I am disappointed President Obama didn’t consult Congress before pursuing military action in Libya. He has an obligation to explain the extent and cost of our mission there, including a clear exit strategy. At a time when our military is already stretched thin and we are running massive annual deficits, the U.S. simply cannot afford another open-ended conflict.”
