Congresswoman Speier and Constitutional Expert to Discuss Impeachment at Town Hall
San Mateo, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (CA-14) will host “A Conversation about America: Impeachment” with Stanford Law Professor Bernadette Meyler to discuss the impeachment process on Thursday, January 23rd, 2020 at 7 p.m. at South San Francisco High School. Congresswoman Speier and Professor Meyler will be available to the press at 6:30 p.m. before the town hall.
“Impeachment has occurred - now what?” Rep. Speier stated. “At the town hall we will delve deep into the Constitution and discuss what treason, bribery and high crimes and misdemeanors mean. While the Senate will act as judge and jury, the American people have every right to weigh in. I’m particularly excited to have high school students participate in this important civics discussion.”
Rep. Speier is hosting the event in partnership with the San Mateo County Office of Education. This will be the 19th Conversation about America town hall she has hosted since the election of President Trump.
