SAN MATEO, CA - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) will host a free Job Hunters Boot Camp on Tuesday, March 13, 2011 at the San Mateo County Event Center in San Mateo. A record 36 employers that are actively hiring have signed up for the event. Congresswoman Speier has held eight boot camps since in January 2010 serving and inspiring close to 5,000 unemployed.
Jobseekers will have access to the local employers and one-on-one resume and interview sessions. Presenters will share job search strategies and tools designed to help them land a job and keep up their spirits during the job search.
Speier stated, “Looking for work in this economy is extremely competitive. The job market is improving with unemployment down to its lowest level in four years. I believe the high number of employers looking to hire is a sign that the job market is finally coming around. My goal at Job Hunters Boot Camp is to keep the momentum going by having job seekers identify their unique skills and matching them with employers who are seeking those skills.”
The full program and list of employers is available on the Congresswoman’s website.
