San Mateo - Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-San Francisco/San Mateo/Redwood City) and San Mateo County Supervisor Adrienne Tissier will host the 27th annual Seniors On The Move Conference on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the San Mateo County Event Center.

Due to record demand, Speier and Tissier expanded the conference to accommodate 200 additional seniors on a waiting list. Themed “Celebrating the Good Life” this year, the conference will feature keynote speaker Cheryl Jennings, ABC7 anchor and reporter, who will share her challenges breaking into the then male dominated broadcast world. Seniors will also get advice from San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe on how to avoid being scammed.

“After 27 years, this is still one of my favorite events and this year will be no exception,” Speier said. “It’s a gift to see the smiles on the seniors’ faces as they absorb information that helps them stay mentally and physically engaged and healthy. This is a celebration of life and our community.”

“I am thrilled to continue to partner with Congresswoman Speier on this wonderful event year after year,” Tissier said. “We are pleased to present such a wealth of information from our speakers and exhibitors, all offered to keep seniors celebrating the good life for years to come.”
